SQL LRS

The Apache 2.0 Open Source xAPI Learning Record Store

SQL LRS was built for real-world xAPI.

Too many commercial LRSs force you to trust them with your data in the Cloud. And then they promise you on-board dashboards and analytics, but the results are always underwhelming. Worst of all, many LRSs packaged with LMSs don’t even let you access your own data.

We wanted to provide something different.

From the outset, we wanted to design an LRS that was built for the real-world. This means that SQL LRS is:

  • Deployable anywhere including: AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, and in on-prem and mobile environments.

  • Built on SQL. It launches with your choice of Postgres or SQLite. This means you can directly query the LRS’s underlying database using SQL. It also means you can plug-and-play with any Postgres-ready tool including: Google Looker, Power BI, Tableau, Superset and Preset.

  • Completely open source, with no restrictions, and providing full access to your data whenever and wherever you want it.
